Self-Pay

The self-pay program, designed for patients without insurance, allows for patients to pay for their own appointments at the University Medical Center. There is an application for this program and income and expense requirements must be met before a patient can start the program. For self- pay patients the first visit cost $100.00 and each visit after that cost $55.00. Remaining balances must also be paid by the patient.

Charity Care

This program allows patients with no insurance and little to no income to be able to schedule one appointment per month at the University Medical Center for no cost. Eligibility is determined through the social services office and there is often a waiting list for this program. There is a limited number of patients which can be added to the Charity Care program each month.

Patient Medication Assistance Program

This program allows the Social Service office to provide medication to clients for a $5.00 rate per prescription. This greatly discounts the burden of purchasing expensive medication for patients with no prescription drug coverage. This program is available for patients who are low-income and who have no insurance for medications.  Medications must be available from the pharmaceutical companies for patients who can not pay.

Case Management Services

These basic case management services include assistance with applications for medical and financial benefits, assistance with nursing home admittance, assisted living and hospice referrals, patient counseling, community resource referrals for problems of basic living: food, utilities, rent, and assistance with transportation to medical appointments.
