KATIE GATES, MD
Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine
Katie Marie Gates, MD, is assistant professor of Family Medicine in the College’s Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine.
Gates is from Oxford, Alabama, and earned her bachelor’s in biology from The University of Alabama, where she also completed her master’s degree in human environmental sciences as a Rural Medical Scholar. Gates then received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, which headquartered in Birmingham, and she received her third and fourth years of clinical education from the School of Medicine’s Tuscaloosa Regional Campus, which is located at the College.
Gates’ special interests are in emergency medicine and clinic procedures.
