JOHN MCDONALD, MD
Obstetrics and Gynecology
John T. McDonald, MD, is an associate professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Alabama College of Community Health Sciences. He is a physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has served as the Obstetrics and Gynecology clerkship director since 2008. He also presently serves as the faculty representative on the CCHS Foundation Board and is the current chair of the OB/GYN department at DCH Regional Medical Center.
McDonald is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. After graduating from The University of Alabama with bachelor’s and master’s in accounting, he earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed residency training at the University of South Alabama in Mobile in 2007.
McDonald is also a certified public accountant (inactive) and is a member of the Alabama Society of CPAs. He and his wife, Dana, have three children: Drake, Analiese, and Reagan.
McDonald co-authored “Management of Cervical Pregnancies for Family Medicine Obstetricians” in the Journal of Family Medicine Obstetrics in 2009.
