Caring for Our Frontline: UMC Mental Health Services Available at No Cost for First Responders

People are being told to stay home as much as possible during this COVID-19 outbreak, but that’s not an option for most first responders.

Police officers, firefighters and paramedics in Tuscaloosa and throughout the country continue to respond to emergencies in their communities, not knowing for sure if the people they will interact with have the deadly virus.

In an effort to assist those in Tuscaloosa working on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis, University Medical Center is offering, at no charge, mental health care services for first responders.

The services include individual therapy sessions and group therapy sessions. The appointments and sessions will be conducted via telemedicine. Video resources on topics that include anxiety and depression will also be available.

To schedule an individual session, or to be part of a group session, call or email Tiffaney Davis at [add_tel_link](205) 348-6012[/add_tel_link] or tsdavis9@ua.edu.
