University Medical Center provides Annual Wellness Visits for Medicare recipients with the goal of keeping patients as healthy as possible.
The Annual Wellness Visit is a yearly appointment with your primary care physician or health-care provider to create a personalized health plan to help prevent disease and disability based on your current health and risk factors.
These visits differ from yearly physical exams in that they are a conversation with your health-care professional about your overall health and priorities, as well as concerns you might have about your health and wellbeing. Patients and health-care providers work together to create a health-care program that meets the specific needs of the patient.
There is no deductible or copay for an Annual Wellness Visit. However, if additional treatment or testing beyond the covered preventive services occurs, there may be a copay or deductible.
