Moderna Covid-19 Vaccine Available To UMC Patients

University Medical Center has the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine available by appointment for UMC patients age 18 and older. To schedule an appointment, call (205) 348-1471.

UMC is operated by the College of Community Health Sciences.

Vaccines are provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm at University Medical Center in Tuscaloosa (850 Peter Bryce Boulevard, 35401). Please bring a form of photo identification and health insurance card to your vaccination appointment.

You cannot receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine if you have tested COVID-19 positive in the last 14 days, and if you have received or plan other vaccinations, including flu and shingles, in the period of two weeks before the first COVID-19 vaccine does through two weeks after the second dose.

Please follow these tips for your vaccine appointment:

  • When arriving at UMC in Tuscaloosa, check in under the portico.
  • Face masks are required to enter the building and must always be worn inside UMC.
  • Remain socially distanced.
  • For safety and space capacity reasons, do not bring anyone with you unless you require assistance.
  • Wear clothing to allow access to your left shoulder and upper arm.
  • Don’t eat or drink anything for 15 minutes before your appointment because your temperature will be taken as part of screening.
  • Plan to remain at the vaccination site for 15-30 minutes to be monitored for any reaction.
  • Be prepared to schedule an appointment for the second vaccine dose, which UMC will assist with.
