National Immunization Awareness Month

August is National Immunization Awareness Month. Immunizations are a process by which a person is protected from illness and disease through vaccination. Vaccines help the body’s immune system create antibodies that provide protection. Common vaccinations protect against Hepatitis A and B, Measles, Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Influenza (Flu), Tuberculosis, Smallpox and COVID-19. To learn more about the importance of immunizations, visit the CDC website.
