Dr. Crystal Dillard joined University Medical Center in May as a psychologist in the Betty Shirley Clinic. Before joining UMC, she was clinic director of The University of Alabama Psychology Clinic and held a clinical faculty position with UA’s Department of Psychology. Before joining UA, Dillard spent 10 years in clinical practice at Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham, Ala., in the Behavioral Health Department, providing inpatient and outpatient psychotherapy and psychological assessment services. She is certified as a therapist and trainer in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for young children with disruptive behaviors and their caregivers. She received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from UA. She also completed a pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center and Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities in Memphis, Tenn.
