Enhancing the patient experience 

University Medical Center continues to add new physicians and services throughout its practice to elevate care and optimize the patient experience. 

UMC in Tuscaloosa 

Current University of Alabama faculty and staff who have UA health insurance, and their dependents, can have prescriptions filled at University Health Service Pharmacy, located at 750 Peter Bryce Blvd. on the UA campus. 

The Faculty-Staff Clinic is once again open during the lunch hour, from noon to 1pm. The clinic is exclusively for UA employees and their families and offers both walk-in care and scheduled appointments. The clinic is staffed by master’s-prepared nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants who assess and treat minor medical urgencies and acute illness, administer vaccinations and perform physicals, and follow up with chronic conditions and women’s routine health services. The Pediatric Clinic began offering extended hours for established patients in November – until 7:30pm Monday through Thursday. The clinic provides comprehensive primary care for newborns and children up to the age of 16, including well-child exams, childhood illness and treatment, minor procedures and injury care, immunizations, and hearing, vision and developmental screenings. The clinic also offers specialized care for premature infants, evaluation and care of children with ADHD, and sports and camp physicals. UMC-Livingston 

Prenatal and obstetrics care is now available for patients with the addition of Dr. Gabrielle Cordaro, a family medicine obstetrician. The clinic has also expanded access to primary care services – acute and preventive care, chronic care and Annual Medicare Wellness Visits – with the addition of Dr. Victoria Smith, a family medicine physician. Pediatric care, including well-child care and childhood vaccinations, is also offered at UMC-Livingston. The clinic offers childhood vaccines, including measles, polio and pertussis (DTaP), as part of the Vaccines for Children Program (VFC), which provides vaccines for eligible children at no cost. Sports medicine services are also available, including care for injuries and sports physicals. UMC-Livingston is accepting new patients and takes most forms of health insurance. UMC-Demopolis 

Prenatal care and obstetrics, family medicine care and mental health care services have been expanded at UMC-Demopolis with the addition of three new physicians: Dr. Kyle Johnson, a family medicine obstetrician; Dr. Savanah Giovane, a family medicine physician; and Dr. Stephanie Smith, a family medicine physician with fellowship training in behavioral health. UMC-Northport 

Patients at UMC-Northport have access to sports medicine care with the addition of Dr. Cole Marshall, a family medicine physician with sports medicine fellowship training. The clinic also has on-site X-ray, ultrasound and casting. UMC-Northport also provides comprehensive care in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, prenatal care, geriatrics, neurology and behavioral health, as well as social services.
