Grier Stewart, MD, CMD, FACP, is Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education and Associate Professor of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine. He is also the Internal Medicine Clerkship Director for the College.

Stewart received his bachelor’s degree at Davidson College in North Carolina, his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama, and completed his Internal Medicine residency training at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has an interest in Geriatrics and long-term care and serves as Medical Director at Forest Manor Nursing Home in Tuscaloosa.

Stewart is a member of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama; a fellow of the American College of Physicians, serving on the Governor’s Board of Directors for Alabama; and the Alabama Medical Directors’ Association, serving as its president in 2016-17. He has practiced medicine in Tuscaloosa for more than 20 years and serves on numerous hospital and community boards and committees.
