University Medical Center’s relocated and expanded Northport clinic is now open and accepting new patients.
The brand-new and much larger UMC-Northport opened Nov. 14 at 6205 Jemison Lane. The clinic is 15,000 square feet in size and has 28 exam rooms. In addition to family medicine, obstetrics and pediatric care, the new clinic also offers services in internal medicine, prenatal care, women’s health, geriatrics, neurology, behavioral health and sports medicine. Social work and nutrition services are also offered, and lab and X-ray services are available on site.
UMC-Northport is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:45pm. Patients can schedule appointments by calling (205) 348-6700.
“We want to improve health care access to the community and we want to provide more health-care services,” said Dr. Richard Friend, dean of The University of Alabama College of Community Health Sciences, which operates UMC. “We found a great site to build a beautiful clinic with lots of parking, lot of visibility and a wide range of services. This clinic was a collaboration of UMC and UA leaders.”
A grand opening is scheduled for Jan. 19, 2023.
UMC-Northport first opened in 2015 in the Fitness One building on McFarland Boulevard, with 6,000 square feet of space and 11 exam rooms.
