Spotlight on University Medical Center Tuscaloosa

University Medical Center in Tuscaloosa provides health care services to the community and serves as a clinical education and training site for UAB Heersink School of Medicine students and physicians in the UA Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program. UMC and the Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency are operated by UA’s College of Community Health Sciences.

UMC provides comprehensive patient-centered care in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, psychiatry and behavioral medicine, sports medicine and women’s health, including obstetrics and gynecology. The clinic also has on-site laboratory and X-ray services, nutrition counseling and social work services.

UMC also provides UA employees and their families convenient non-emergency medical care at the Faculty-Staff Clinic, which is staffed by nurse practitioners. The Faculty-Staff clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM.

UMC accepts most forms of health insurance, and new patients are welcome. The clinic is located at 850 Peter Bryce Boulevard and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 4:45PM. UMC also has evening clinic hours for established patients on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30PM to 7:30PM. To schedule an appointment, call (205) 348-1770.
